Healthy Homemade Anti-Bacterial Spray

DIY Antibacterial cleaner

We are always on the lookout for greener, healthier, cheaper alternatives to expensive, chemical products.  In our home we go through anti-bacterial spray cleaner like nobody’s business.  After all, it is a good chore for the four-year-old.

My husband and mother-in-law are into their essential oils.  And I’m getting there!

So without further ado, here’s a simple little recipe for a not only anti-bacterial but anti-fungal, anti-viral and anti-infectious spray cleaner.  These proportions fill up a standard supermarket 500ml spray cleaner bottle nicely.  And if you scroll down I’ve even included a pretty pair of labels for you to printo off, cut to shape and glue onto your recycled bottle so you won’t forget how to make it up when it runs out.  (And so it will look a bit prettier.)

10 drops of orange essential oil (anti-infectious, anti-septic, anti-viral)

6 drops of lavender essential oil (anti-infectious, anti-septic, anti-viral, anti-bacterial)

4 drops of eucalyptus essential oil (anti-infectious, anti-septic, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal)

4 drops of tea tree oil (anti-infectious, anti-septic, anti-viral, anti-bacterial, anti-fungal)

2 cups of filtered water

Give it all a good shake and get spraying.  Store in a cool dark place.

If you don’t happen to have eucalyptus in your repertoire yet, you could double the tea tree.

And finally here are the labels for your new delicious-smelling natural spray!
